Responsibilities of registered nurses
As an RN, you can choose to work in a variety of healthcare facilities such as private doctors' offices, hospitals, specialty clinics, and public health centers. You will be responsible for many different tasks including supervising other nurses, maintaining patients' medical records, dressing wounds and incisions, reviewing patients' treatment plans, and evaluating their progress.

Training requirements and course duration
There are two routes to becoming an RN in Wisconsin: earning an associate's degree (ADN) or earning a bachelor of science degree (BSN). An associate's degree takes roughly two years to earn; a bachelor's degree requires four years of study. In either case, once you finish your program, you will need to pass the NCLEX-RN exam before you can obtain your registered nursing license.

As of 2011, the average annual salary for all registered nurses in Wisconsin was $64,800. This figure was reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and is a bit lower than the national average, which was $69,110 per year.
